ive got a cousin who is doing a similar swap to a 92 yota pickup with the swapped in 3.4 and hes still in process of sas , he used the older toyota solid front axle cuz all the sas kits are designed for that axle so it would be easier to put in, a d44 would be nice cuz its bigger and stronger but toyota axles are actually really stong for thier size and if u go with a d44 i have no idea what width you should look for to macth rear axle so that another obstacle
Solid axle chevys can't be beat! My dream truck: 73-91 chevy 3500 crew cab srw with dana 60/14bolt, 6 inc long travel lift with KING shocks, 37 inc tires and a 24v cummins diesel, nv5600 and np205

You can't use an old Tacoma axle, as Tacoma's never had a solid front axle. You can't use an old mini-truck axle either, as the diff is on the wrong side.
You can use a D44 from an older full size Jeep, or a custom aftermarket axle from Diamond, etc.
