Only thing i got to tell u is go with a body lift and u wont need but a 3in at max.....me and my buddies here in tx built a 87 reg cab short bed yota with a chevy 350 turbo 350 tranny and a 202 transfer....granted we had to put the radiator fan and fuel tank in the bed but we made a 41/2in. body lift for it and we have 35s on it and theres still plenty of room....cheap way build the body lift ureself its quite easy

There are plenty of suspension kits for your truck under $1K. Check a local 4WD shop, check the advertisements in 4WD magazines like 4W&OR, or GOOGLE.

A good one would consist of 4 new spring packs, shocks, a dropped steering arm, an adjustable torque rod, and shims to correct pinion angle, maybe a new steering stabilizer. Look for one with a lot of thin leaves in the spring packs instead of a few thick leaves, it will ride and flex a lot better (and be a bit more expensive).

Keep it in the 3-3.5" range and you won't need expensive steering mods (ie, crossover steering).

If your 33's still rub, maybe add a 1-2" body lift, max.
