I''m looking to get a lift on my 2003 S10 pickup. Everything is standard, just to make that clear.

So I am thinking i want a 5" lift for the truck... and i don''t want the lift/suspension kit to be cheap, so suggestions would be appreciated. I am trying to make the truck more off road-friendly. I am also considering having the front end lifted an inch extra for more clearance in the front... This is possible i hope.

I am also looking to get new tires along with the lift.  Not gonna be rock crawling or anything too extreme, but i''m thinking 29"-30" is what i''m gonna be aiming for for the size, tread type is still undecided...


Any suggestions? I''m not too mechanically savvy so i need some help, how much am i looking at price wise and what are some kits you guys would suggest.

a 5" lift would look pretty goofy with 30" tires,....

go solid..

 

bds makes a solid 5" kit for your s-10. along with a set of 33 or 35 inch tires your truck would look killer  

You should be able to fit 31s with no lift or with a little help.  

if u do a 5" go with 35's and raise the front an inch too. itll look good  

you can fit 31's stock or i did on my 95 s10 when i had it, it would only rub under sharp turns and a little flexing, so 5 inches of lift with 31's to 32's would be good in my opinion for mpg's, decent gearing with out changing out the ring and pinions but might be helpul by the way but not necassry(spelling), and not to tear up way to much of the ifs suspension and cv axles, if you want bigger tires def consider a solid axle swap  

go with a moderate lift, between 3 and 5 inches, keep the tire size 35 and below, leave out the solid axle. no point in adding the extra weight, not to mention the endless removing of IFS suspension compents, new drive shafts and the finding of an axle, if you stay under 35's with your tires you might be able to keep from blowin out the rear end. or you can regear to correct for your tire size
since you were thinking only 29 or 30 inch tires if thats the way you want to go, a whole 5 inches of lift isn't that neccessary
