I run a 4x4 club in the UK - www.L200.org.uk

We are trying to organise a trip to the West coast of America to combine sightseeing with some wheeling - routes like the Mojave road and others from the 'Backcountry Adventures' books.

We are struggling to find a company to hire 4x4 vehicles from - looking to hire 2 and 4 door Jeeps (or possibly pick-up trucks). We would like to pick up the vehicles in either San Francisco, Las Vegas or LA.

Can anyone assist and/or make any suggestions about this trip ?

in moab, ut. there is a jeep rental place that rents modified JK's an prolly have some tj's also to go explore at moab with. other than that I'm not aware of any others. some rental agencies right there at the air ports have and rent out 4 door JK rubicons. I know spokane, and albuqurque have em, I'd place a good bet on being able to aquire some from vegas. cause I've haul'd em there. It shouldn't be a problem to get what your looking for unless of course your looking for highly modified units the rubicon models do more than enough for a sight see'r and even an experienced jeeper, thats something that'll definately take a reservation/s

how many rigs are we talking about here, and for how long?  

It will be Easter or October/November 2009 - probably 5 jeeps
