Hey.  

I drive a 1996 Montero LS (3.0 L).  The rear (lift?) gate's handle is broken inside and out.  I'm heading to the junkyard to look for compatible handles.  

My rear gate swings open laterally, on a hinge on the right.  I think starting 1997, Montero gates swung up on a hinge at the roof of the car.  Anyone know if 1995 and earlier had side-swinging rear gates?
