im looking at laying base coat/ clear coat paint and i have never done it before and im kinda looking for a little guidance in the way of mixing it paint to reducer ratios and so on and so forth any bit of info would be very helpful

Well you want to shoot it when it is cool and humidity is low. As far as mixing, it is best to thin it out a little bit and figure on a few wet coats to cover it for base color and the clear coat you want to thin it a good bit and do several coats if you have the time to do it. It is better to go thin that thick here. Several light coats of clear coat will give the paint "depth". It would not hurt to sand clear coat out with some 600 grit before final coat too.
