i have a 96 bronco and im working on making it a good offroad truck. Im new to this so i dont really know what all i really need. and i thinks there is a little more than lifting it and getting bigger tires. but what i know now is that i want to get 35 inch tires for it. What is the smalest lift i can get for it. i can cut come of the finders away if needed. i was thinking a 4 inch should work. should i regear it? If so how woould i figure out how what gears i would replace.

thanks for the help.

you could get a 2 or 3 inch lift and trim the fenders 2 inches. and yeah you need to regear for those tires. and as far as what you gotta figure out what the truck will be used for street weekend warrior or trailer queen?

i got a 90 bronco i got a 4inch lift and i can get 34s in there with out rubing so i suggest a 6inch and you could then go to 36's if you wanted

there are a few charts out there that tell you about what gears you need for the tire you run. check out this  http://www.snoman.com/HTML/axlecalc_5a.html   it is a website that has all sorts of truck related calculators.

I used to have a 96 F150 and I used a 6 inch lift to fit my 35s and had 4.56 gears installed but later had wished I used 4.88s. I would not use a 4 inch lift, you will rub on hard turns, trust me.
