i have a 96 suburban k1500 series,4*4,5.7,ive been trying to replace the speed sensor,the only sensor i found and a chevy dealership sold me was the one in the transfer case,i replaced that 1 and still speedo wont budge,and trans wont shift only manualy from 1 to 2,is their 2 speed sensors on this trans ?where exactly is this sensor located on trans?ive tried everything anything would help

It is in Tcase. The output from it feeds into ECM and ECM controls tranny and speedo dial. If sensor is good, check connector and wiring and ECM itself.

You sure there aren't wheel speed sensors on that model also? Or even one in the rear end?

Yes. GM uses no speed sensor in rear axle on that truck and uses VSS output compared to wheel wheel sensor to control rear ABS. (it is 3 channel, one for each front wheel and last channel for both rear wheels.)
