i have a 72 scout AND I WANT MORE LIFT.I THOUGHT ABOUT A SPRING OVER BUT THE CHUNKS IN THE WAY, SO I THOUGHT ABOUT MOVING THE SPRINGS OUT BEYOND THE FRAME LIKE THE REAR.IS THIS SAFE , AND IF NOT, WHY NOT?IF I HAVE TO GET ANOTHER AXLE, WHICH ONE IS THE EASIEST TO GO WITH?BOTH AXLES ARE DANA 44'S AND I AM ON ATIGHT BUDGET.I SWA THE ARTICLE ON DOING THE SAME TO THE REAR WHICH INSPIRED MY THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS.ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

what do you mean CHUNKS? are you refering to the pumpkin?

yeah, the pumpkin. i want to lift the front more and not cost a fortune.any suggestions would help

if ya move the front springs out side the frame how are ya gonna turn the wheels?

good point and obvious too, too bad i didnt think about it.got any advice as to a front end to use that will be cheap available readily and fit a scout 11?

Scouts use D44 front and rear that year. You could try either adapting a spring over kit for a old full sized Jeep Cherokee to axles or possible use axles from that Jeeps with a spring over kit. You could have springs re-arched higher too and/or extend spring attachment points below frame further too.
