okay so my 88 dodge is fun and all but i need my wheels off to get some bigger boots under there, only problem being most the nuts are now round because i tried gettin them off so hard...what do i do?

uhh how did you manage to round out all the nuts???? you should probabley stop and take a second to look at what your doing when something goes that wrong

What have you been doing to try to remove nuts to get to this point?

Cutting torch. Cut the heads and chizel the remaining pieces that you could not torch. Be careful not to set axle on fire or ruin your rims. Have fun with that.

No need to torch it. If you get you some Cobalt drill bits you can drill them out without too much trouble. Do not try this with regular hi speed steel bits as it will not work out.

maybe the correct size socket, those probably have a cover on em and have spun around the actual lug nut, pull em off, use the correct size metric socket,

if you're going to do it... you may as well do it right...
they have a lugnut removal kit available at most parts stores it's round with raised grooves inside that will tighten it to the lugnut as it tries to remove the nut... same way an easy out works... you have to tap them on to start... but then they will remove the lugnut... one way or the other...

Last fall when I was replacing a hub bearing assemble and rotor on my K3500 I had some problems (bearing was not bad but rotor was shot and you have to remove hub to change it so I replaced it too) The bearing assembly was held on by 4 Grade 8 bolts but the 15mm heads had gotten a little smaller due to rust and I could not get a good grip on them for torque needed to remove bolts even using 6 point sockets. I finally got them out by driving a slightly smaller US HD impact socket on a few of them with a 3 lb hammer. I was then able to remove bolts and then I had to drive the bolts out of socket. BTW, I always grease bolts and lug nuts lightly whenever I install them and have for many years. Now if I could just get factory to do it...
