TH350 issue...

I just did an engine swap, in my '78 Chevy 4x4 pulling truck, and added a stall converter to my tranny and when I went to test it out it got hot EXTREMELY FAST and started puking tranny fluid out the dipstick tube... I was curious as to what might have caused it to overheat so quickly... I have two trans coolers and have the lines running through the radiator before the coolers.. I never had this issue before the engine and converter swap... I'm looking for any tips on what the problem could be or what I might need to do to fix it... Thanks for any help that anyone may have...

First thing I would do is check for blockage in cooler circuit as that can fry a tranny fast. Also if you installed a high stall converter those things can make a lot of heat and unless you have some seriously deep axle gears to go with it in truck you can roast fluid quickly.

I'm running 4.10 gears and 33/15.50/15 inch TSL/SX's... Thanks for the input... I'll check the cooling circuit tomorrow... Thanks again...

If you have a high stall converter with this setup you could toast it pulling for what it is worth.
