I have a 1991 Chevy 2WD 3/4T with a 454TBI, 4L80E, the truck has a 7.5" FabTech lift installed already. Here's the question for someone out there that knows who has the RIGHT kit to install a Dana44. I have the axle, or two or three of them, which I can go with a right or left side drop, I just need to find another trans to do so because the one in it needs to be rebuilt anyway. Any help that leads me in the right direction is much appreciated.

try looking in your local junkyards for one or....I saw an episode on extreme 4x4 on spike where all they did was change the rear most part of the tranny where the drive shaft comes out and put the 4x4 tranny adapter to a transfer case on. I'm sure if you look at www.advanceadapters.com they can lead you in the most appropriate direction.

You'll use the driver's side drop Dana 44. If you've got a 3/4 ton with 7.5 inches of lift, I'm guessing you're running a tire larger than 35". If you plan on wheeling hard, then sell all three Dana 44s and buy one Ford 78-79 Dana 60. Its a high pinion, which will help drive line angles. Just rebuild you trans and be happy with that. The trans and transfer care should be just fine. Look to Offroad Unlimited for parts to help you along.
