I was actually wondering about the tires on the F250 Cross Country truck.  How are they holding up?  How are their highway manners vs. say a BFG Mud Terrain KM2?  I am going to be getting tires in the next few months, and am looking at 285/70/17 KM2's and 32x11.50x17 SSR's.  I drive my truck on the interstate about 300 miles a week, and use it for hunting, fishing, hauling firewood, towing etc.

They are holding up great. I have a little over 10k on them and have yet to rotate them. I really like the SSR and would have actually preferred to run a bigger tire on the truck, but that was the largest SSR I could find. I would say they have at least 70% tread left and have been great performers especially in the mud.

Compared to the KM2 it's a tough call. The KM2 is a really well rounded tire that is pretty quit on the road and performs well in almost every terrain. I am from the south and know that if you get that sticky red clay between your tires you better have the power to spin them clean or you are a sitting duck.

If you are driving 300 miles a week that's appx 15k a year. Given that and what it sounds like you are doing with the truck the KM2 might be the better tire for you, but from what you are saying I believe that either one would work great.

Thanks.  I think it will come down to the price at the time I order/buy.  I have always had good luck with BFG, but the SSR sound good for their price.  I'm from Illinois. so must of the mud I would be in is just wet topsoil type stuff, but every now and then, we run into some clay.  My truck is a GMC with the L33 aluminum 5.3 so I have enough power to spin the size I'm going with(for now).  I hope to one day do some of the things you guys did on the UA Z71. Not quite a trail truck, just a very capable DD.  Thanks again.
