I still want to run the electric fuel pumps.Fuel reg is installed.Fuel pumps wont turn on when the key is sellected on.How do i cheat the system.Someone has to have done this atleast once in the past 21 years.Or is the only way,to jump the pink F/Pump wire. This would make the fuel pump run all the time with the key on.Any thoughts.
Mark.

On a TBI motor there is a fuel pump relay controlled by ECM that powers it during startup and then switches to using oil pressure switch to keep pump running. YOu need to apply power to circuit directly from ignition switch. BTW, make sure you set regulator to 5 to 6 PSI and no more with carb as pump can make 14 to 17 PSI.

Yes but then if you use it you will have to "stage" past it on engine crank to get fuel turned on. I would do away with it in this conversion and power pump from ignition switch.

I tried to run power to the pigtail off the fuel pump relay. No luck the pumps don`t turn on.Pumps are new and work out of the truck.

The relay is not meant to run pump all the time even in a TBI truck. It is used to get it started then it is powered via oil pressure switch. If pump is not powering up, you need to make sure that you have it grounded properly at tank and that engine/battery is well grounded to frame as well.
