I just bought an 87 Samurai, and am looking to get the engine rebuilt. I don't want to trust any backyard mechanic with this so I'm hoping that someone can recommend a qualified shop in my area: Paramount, California in Los Angeles County.

I'll be using the 'engine rebuild kit' from Rocky-Road, I already asked them but unfortunately they cannot recommend.

Thanks---

Instead of having the little 1.3L rebuilt, maybe now would be a good time to upgrade to the 1.6L from a Sidekick/Tracker for more power.  The 1994 and older has 8 valves, the 1995 and newer has 16 valves.  It is a common upgrade for the Samurai.

calmini.com could be a good source for information for you.

Good luck in your choice.
