easiest way is to get a 4wd frame with the axles tranny and t-case and fit your stuff onto that frame

whats mentioned above would be easier otherwise your gonna have to remove all the 2wd suspension from frame and fab up your own suspension, like if your using leafs find location of shcakle mounts drill from put em in etc... or if using coilovers, your links, mounts etc.... but it gonna have to be precise u know so ur axle is centered and suspenison can acutally move through all its range with out bindning or other problems..... then steering is gonna have to be again custom made, plenty doable but plenty of work, my uncle did a similar thing to his 62 gmc 2wd pickup, put about 20 inc of lift with some super long custom deaver springs up front with dana 60, crossover steering, custom shock hoops, custom shackles and hangers, and sitting on some "small" 44 inc tsls, its about a year and a half in the making but it really close to being done now, he only works on it on spare time btw
Solid axle chevys can't be beat! My dream truck: 73-91 chevy 3500 crew cab srw with dana 60/14bolt, 6 inc long travel lift with KING shocks, 37 inc tires and a 24v cummins diesel, nv5600 and np205
