Hi. I have a 1999 expedition, 5.4l with a 3" bodylift. I want to replace my rims with 18" or 20" rims but I'm not sure what the biggest size tires I can get that would not rub. I have asked around and I get different answers. I have 33/12.5/16.5 tires now. Any help would be great. Thanks

Find the equivalent of a 33/12.50 in an 18 or 20 inch wheel... that's whats going to fit.

Because the rims I have now are old and do not look very good. The tires are almost gone so I was just going to buy both at the same time. I bought the truck already with the lift and tires. I was leaning towards the 18" rims because the 20" rims do not leave very much sidewall.

305 has nothing to do with tire height, be informed don't mis inform please. 305 is the tread width 305mm the aspect ratio or the second number is the percentage of sidewall on each side of rim. 305/70/16  305x.70/25.4x2+16 eguals tire height. 25.4 puts the millimetersw into inches. 305x.70=213.5    213.5/25.4=8.4 8.4x2=16.8+16=32.8 and that how you get your tire size no matter rim size or anything.

I like that! You know your tires! Why don't the tire manufacturers go with the standard measuring system? Atleast for the bigger tires and for those that like it simple.
