I just bought a 1996 z71 and want to swap to a strait axle, and a four link.
I cant find a four link kit. If anybody knows any wear please let me know.

You might have a problem here. SAS is not a problem but 4 link is. The frame is not very strong on the truck in rear and the span of leafs supports frame better and spreads load on it. A 4 link coil with center load in one spot and you would need to beef frame up in rear.

In that frame if I did a SAS I would go with leafs. What many do not realize is that newer half tons do not have the frame strength of 87 on back 1/2 tons front or rear. Year ago I new a guy that used to deliver trucks for GM in car haulers. He told me once that when new 88 1/2 ton came out that they damaged a lot of frames tying them down during shipping because of weakness in new frame. They had to change the way they secured them to find a way to ship them. 3/4 tons were not a problem nor were 1/2 tons 87 and older.

when ya have a load thats bouncing off the bumpstops or sitting on them all the time the leafs are pointless.
