I have a 01 Tahoe that i want to do a solid axle swap on but all the kits i find are for 2500 and 3500s. can i make them work on a 1500? or does anyone know who makes a kit for a 1500?

Never seen one. You are basically not going to find any kits for Silverados 1/2 ton SAS's. GM redesigned and lightened frame up there and it appears that nobody wants the liability for making a kits for this. If it was a OBS 2000 you would not have a problem finding a kit.

uh...... didn't the magazine the just put a sas on a 1500 gmc seirra? sure it was a lot of work and mods to make it really strong but they built it to be bulltet proof, im sure any of the 2500 kits can be made to work on the 1500s just take some more time to strenthen frame, you know at the steering box, suspension mounts, crossmembers etc... if your competent enough to do a sas i don't think it should matter if your working on a 2500 or a 1500 otherwise let a shop do the whole thing
Solid axle chevys can't be beat! My dream truck: 73-91 chevy 3500 crew cab srw with dana 60/14bolt, 6 inc long travel lift with KING shocks, 37 inc tires and a 24v cummins diesel, nv5600 and np205
