Hey I was wondering if anyone knows roughly how much it will cost to have my SM465 and NP205 rebuilt. They are in a '74 Chevy Stepside, 350ci, Dana 44 front, GM 14 rear.

It this stage I would strongly consider some bone yard parts and upgrading to a NV4500. For about the same or a bit more you could have a better setup. The 4500 has MUCH better shift quality too.

What could I pull a NV4500 out of? Will be hard to mate up to my 350ci? sorry for all the questions, but I am not familiar with the NV4500 at all...

GM started using NV4500's in 92 and they used one bell housing style till 95 and another after that. Tranny needs to match bell housing. (your current one will not work) Any 4500 bell housing for a SB, BB or 6.5 diesel will work. Not one from a 6.0 though and Dmax never had a 4500 but rather a ZF6 6 speed and bell housing on engine side is same as SB and BB. You do not want a Dodge 4500 as they had 5th gear issues (different design internally till 99 or so) It is easy to tell Dodge from GM 4500's in bone yards. GM has 32 spline outputs and Dodge 23 or 27. GM switched to 32 spline inputs and standardized mounting flanges on Tcases around 85 so look for a late 208 or 88 to 91 241 from a full sized blazer or burb to have front drive shaft in right place. You will also need to convert over to a hydraulic clutch which GM also did around 85.
