bolts for sm465

anyone know what size bolt threads into a 4x4 sm465? I have one broken off flush and another hole is stripped... any help greatly appreciated.

No...dont know the size but you could take a good one down to a bolt supply house and get all new grade 8 bolts.

They should be about 7/16's shank but like said above take what is left to a hardware store. It will be coarse thread and grade 5 is fine with grade 8 kinda over kill. Do not use general duty grade 3 bolts.

well problem is i only have the half thats broke off in the trans... i will be lucky if i can get it out without destroying the threads.. know what i mean?

Drill bolt with a Cobalt bit (you can get them at Lowes) and then use a easy out. Do not mess around with a regular drill bit doing this. Cobalt cuts even hard steel and it harder to break by accident too.

i will give it a shot thank you, also i acquired this truck/trans/crossmember uninstalled.. does anyone have a picture of a 465 in a 4x4 chevy? just a reg. pic nothing fancy
