You should do a 14 bolt axel swap into your 1500 this way you dont blow the stock 10 bolt under the strain of the tires and trucks height

where r u looking......i seen plenty of chevy 1/2 tons rolling higer than a 6 inc lift....but i don't want to be a bear of bad news but with a 8 inc lift and about 37 inc tires that you can run.....your stock axle isn't gonna last offroad, your front suspension parts are gonna need replacing like every 20,000 miles, unit bearings arn't the best in those trucks, and you will need to regear your differentials to at least 4:88 or 5:13 with 37-38 inc tires......then your brakes are gonna have a hard time stopping and your tow hicth is gonna be kinda useless......

Look at Cognito. They make a 7-9 inch kit. You can get 7 inches of lift with near flat cv angles, or you can crank it up to as much as 9. I agree with Geo450racer, though, the ifs will hate you with bigger than 35's.

No wonder he want to reach for the sky because of inexperience and age. This is all the more reason to tone it down and lift less and run smaller tires until you get your wings. Regardless of chassis/axle setup, big lift can be a handful at times to drive for a experienced driver and a nightmare or accident waiting to happen for a unskilled driver.

yeah that explains alot.........what kind of 16 year old has an 03 silverado on 8 inc of lift and 38 inc tires?..............dude give yourself some time cuz modding trucks is not cheap no matter how you look at it......and unless you have a rich daddy whos gonna pay for it all i suggest you forget about the giant lifts....if i were you id just put on a leveling kit and be done with it for now.....

Good advice or bad advice? Mmmmm.... I think I'd go with some good advice from someone with knowledge and experience than another "kid" that might not have all his noodles in one bucket. Good luck youngster.
