the Borg and warner 13-56, they come stock on e4od they have a decent low range and strong enough that ford put them behind 460 big blocks. the only problems with them is little aftermarket support, and i've heard cases of the oil punp breaking free and rotating preventing luberication. but the simple fix if it happens is a self tapping screw through the case. if ya have any other questions you can ask me here or email me at fordtoyotaleavy@yahoo.com

mnyman92: Hey snoooman I'm starting to think that your a ttb hater, well some of us can't afford a 97-up or find a pre-79 ford truck so just back off!
Yes I am. Worst front drive axle made. If you have limited money to spend (and most do) DO NOT waste it on a TTB because at very least it is going to cost you more to drive because it is going to eat your expensive front tires quickly with a lift.

leavy20: i just looked it up on the web and found a result that you can change a 2wd to 4wd by replacing the tail shaft and the out put shaft with that of a 4wd. thats what i read so i wont take any blame if it dont work out
Well I think you need more then just that.Since the 2 wheel drive ones dont use ttb but stamped A-arms(I think. Not 100% so if I'm wrong dont be mad).

sorry me and him were going back and forth in that post i was talking about changing a 2wd e4od tranny to a 4wd. and im not sure if the 92's had true ifs or ttb. i know that year ranger 2wd has ttb and im pretty sure that it does have a ttb. but yeah to change a 2wd truck to 4wd it would take alot more.

I know my truck has ttb because it has the radius arms, also where did you find that info on the tail shaft? After looking on broncograveyard.com I think I will use one of there straight axle kits. Will a part of my VIN tell me what tranny I have? I did some research and found my truck has either a C6 or a E4OD.

Well I can tell you that you trannys a E4od since the C6 isnt a over drive tranny. And if you colunm looks like P R N 3 2 1.With a over drive button then it is a over drive tranny.

Also you can identfy your tranny by the number of bolts you have holding the pan on.
17 bolts=c6
20 bolts=E4OD

actually it's P R N D(with a circle around it) 2 1. Also is it true that you can make it a 4x4 tranny by switching the tail shaft and output shaft?

Yes and No. Yes I found out about the tranny and No I dont think it will work. The tranny filters are diffrent sizes.I'm not sure if thats a big diffrence or why the filters are diffrent. But it seems like theres gotta be more to it then just that.If I where you I would look for a 4 wheel tranny and t-case.Or maybe find a rust bucket 4x4 model and strip it. Also I do like the new avatar.Where did leavy20 find that out about the input and output shafts?
