Finder:
I agree with you on the blower.
Why not find a blazer and putting a pick up cab on it with a mini-mini bed?
I just like the way your truck looks and am tired of seeing old full sizes cut up .Thats all.

YZ250JV:
I have so much body work to do to the 74 it isn't funny. I will eventually find another one but a crew cab next go round.
As for the Blazer frames, the rear sections don't work that good because of the way the frame is shaped. I already built a 78 this same way that worked out sweet and I figured I try it with the 74. No worries, I am going to cut the bed and fit it so it looks nice. If I end up smashin it, sorry. Its all part of the fun. I don't go out on a trail and see how much damage I can get, in fact, the same trail I was on where I got the front fender damage, I was on it about 2 months before that with open diffs and went up to the waterfall at the end of the trail. I had a few spots where it was literally a squeeze but the only damage I got then was the left gas tank was dented. It was either that or tear my exhaust tips off. I'd go with the dent in my tank anyday. I only lost about a half gal. or less but that don't hurt the 85 gal. capacity with all three tanks. Like I stated before in another thread, it was built to tow my trailer and I don't like to stop for gas. I could go from Salt Lake City, Utah to Las Vegas, Nevada with my trailer and back to Cedar City, Utah and get gas there.

CAN I GET A PIC OF YOUR K20 I'M BUILD'N A 1970 C20 "CST" 4X2 INTO A K20 4X4 I'D LOVE TO SEE WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE IT SOUNDS SWEET

Its all somebuddys opion who likes what and why.
My 89 150 is a slow truck,no lyeing there. Its only redeeming fethure is the granny 4 speed and low regears.
And that its lifted a little bit and sounds like it has a lot of power sceaming through straight pipes.
Also the 302 with a auto no matter what truck its in is slow.My co-workers 95 150 with the same engine and 180k wont spin the tires on wet pavement. His 87 with 300-6 will spin for a bout 10 feet and it has 202k.
Now my old 98 350 with the 460 had power.Enuff power to plow and yank a 18 foot lund boat up a 70 degree slope on the trailer(read:scary,I'm going to pop the clutch... stall and slowly slide in the lake.Good bye my new truck... )

Ok...I might be getting a Blazer...
its a 84 with a 6.2 diesal.Rusty, crusty and with new 265 duelers on 16 inch AR chrome wheels. It runs but the water pump leaks. The in side is like new with new carpet and sub stands in the back with old sony 10s.
th400 tranny. But the floor is rotted and all the former owner(not the guy thats selling it)didwas put a sheet of ply wood down for the carpet to sit on.
700...
I dont want it but I'm thinkng of helping the guy out since he got layed off and is going to college in the fall.So I'm asking if the trucks worth itIs the 6.2 any good.I'm thinking of making it in to a half-a%^ plow truck with a salter in the back.Take the top off and pet a piece of ply wood between me and the salter.
Also just to point out that the salter does not spread salt it spreads class 5 on northern mn 2 tracks that i plow.(so I can get to my cabin.

Sure, get it if its got good parts   I'd watch out for the 6.2 though, they had problems in that year. Heads- I'd leave the top on for the weight. When I had my 83 K5 and took the top off it didn't seem to be balanced right. I can only guess why you want it off, to basically use the back as a truck bed but thats cool, you have your own ideas and their functions. If that's all you are going to use it for and you can afford it, I'd do it.

Well I took it for a ride this morning and desided it wanst worth the money. The 6.2 rattled through a single pipe that came out by the driver side door, some body welded the front spiders, the water pumped leaked a lot more then I thought it would, and it smoked a lot(when I say this I mean A LOT).Also the tranny shifted bad, like it was one its last legs(not knowing what gear to go in 2-3-2)

Hey Is the 366 big block any good? I've heard of it and some people its the 305 of( I like wee oh fives) bb and others say its a good truck engine. The reason I'm asking is I found a 1970 3/4 TON GMC 4x4 with a 366,heavy duty 4 speed(probly sm420 or M22),a 14 bolt in the back,44 with disks in the front,a 8 foot Leo plow and heavy duty flat bed with tool box.The trucks rusty but suposly runs good.
This way I could put my salter in the bed(its just a little one by the way.A Sno Ex MiniPro 575) and haul a boat in the summer with it down the bad roads up in northern mn.tThe bad roads are 2 tracks(some places a 1/4 track) with blow downs on them.
