Fords suck. They are not reliable and dodge is way better. Chebys are kind of a stand-by;they get the job done(usually). Cant wait to see what kind of disscussion this brings up. By the way, sadly, I am a ford owner (my grandpa did that to me).

im not a big fan of slamming other brands, but i do get defensive when ford gets attacked. fords are all ive ever owned. my truck has never let me down and i love it. ive heard good and bad stories of every brand. the chevy 350 is a great engine, unfortunately GM decided to make trucks that fall apart and rust out. every truck has its flaws and its good sides. instead i just take pride in what i own and take care of it as best i can.

Without getting into a flame war, Dodge is the worst of the pack when it comes to trucks. Had Dodge not stuffed a CTD in one 18 years ago Dodge trucks would likely not even be around today and may not be much longer anyway.

I don't necessarily like it when anyone bashes on any of the big three. Atleast they are still somewhat made in America. I don't even want to start on the foreign things. In stock form, they all have their problems and I am only a Chevy guy for a few good reasons, they are the easiest to work on and parts availability is everywhere. Some of the "old school" stuff is harder to come by but its all about who a person knows. And they seem to have the best drivetrains overall for years. As for the Fords, I like the old 390s and the C6 tranny. The best looking body Ford ever built was the 1976 with all that fancy chrome trim and all. The front axles are good to use for the 88 on up Chevys for the SAS! The Dodge, poor things, the most reliable engine was the 318 and it still wasn't the best compared to any other thing. Yes the CTD is about the only thing that moved Dodge along many years ago. So listen newbie, better know what's up before doggin on another make. You probably drive a KIA and can only dream of driving a real truck. Good times, guys

Actually, I may not be such a "newbie". Yes, I have not worked around chebys much but I know thier goods and bads. Funny you mention the 76 ford because that is what I have. Yep its actually a good, reliable truck regarless of the emblem.

If I had to buy a new truck today it would likely be a Ford. (and I have been a GM guy for over 35 years too) It is not because they are that Ford's are that great but because GM trucks have gotten so bad and cheaply built and now sport massive looking bumpers that are nothing more than chrome plated plastic. (not to mention ugly styling and rotten hood design too) They look like cheap imitation Tonka trucks on steroids without the Tonka beef.

Yes, crawl under one and look at how it is built. Check out those plastic bumpers on a P/U truck too!

Oh... sorry.. lol.. that comment was to the OP about this thread.

Though I do totally agree with your post. The new GM bumpers are terrible! And huge! Makes me glad my F1 is fitted with a good ole steel bumper.

I agree with U. I don't slam other brands unless provoked. They are all good and faulty at the same time. 90's model dodges hardly rust, but aren't very reliable. Fords are always reliable, but rust. Chevy 350 rock, body is fugly, and rust before you can even start the damn thing. So...they all have good things, and they all have flaws. I am a PROUD owner of a Ford F150 (i've owned 4) and a ford explorer. Neither has ever needed any repairs, and i beat the *** out of em. Do that with a dodge

Just curious, no offense meant but are you bi-polar? Did you forget to take your meds? I don't think you know what you're trying to say. You dog the Fords and you have one? Man you HAVE to be bi-polar. Yep. Sorry man, I figured it out, Ford owner with a major mind disorder. Good luck with the 76 Ford.

I'm not really a big fan of Fords, but they are alright. I'm a Chevy guy! The only thing that I cannot stand is Toyota crap!
