tractor tires????

any one have any experience with tractor tires where to get them, how much to pay, what to look for or avoid. Wheels to go along with. love em? Hate em? new? used?

All that I can really say is watch out for cracks in the side walls.You also need to make your own centers on the wheels so they fit your lugs.
Dying ain't much of a livin' From my favorite movie. Trucks... 1989 150(200k) 33 inch hawgs and a blown 302. 1995 Pathfinder(178k)and still going with 31s. Bikes. 2004 Yamaha TTR 225,barly used. Kawasaki 750 (26k) Not ran right since carbs rebuilt. !972 Yamaha mini enduro.The niceest one I've ever seen thats never been painted. New 2002 f150,fx4,5.4v8,after market tranny coolers and unirol tires.

I can tell you from living with them for many years and various utility tractors that they have no peer in mud but they do lack stability/traction on wet/slick hill sides and pavement too. (wet or dry)

also watch out for the front of the lugs seperateing from the carcass of the tire. this is a sign of too much speed with low-speed tires. tractor tires are usually rated for 24-30 mph. hi-crop sprayer tires are a bit better for speed rating, usually about 50 mph, but you don't get deep lugs with them. If your do want tractor tires go and spend the bit extra on a set of radial tires, as they give improved ride and traction over the standard bias-ply tires. hope this has been a help to you.
