Okay so my 1995 Nissan pathfinder stated making a funny noise last week. At first I thought I burned the tranny up. But now I dont think so.I played around in the Wal-Mart parking lot for a hour and I notice my power steering fluid was a little low.But it doesnt make the noise when I turn the wheel. The noise by the way is a louder squel(but not like alt bearings)It does it when ever the engine is running no matter the gear. Also the trannys a auto and the engine is the v-6.Then I went looking at the belts.I noticed that the power steering belt was hot to the touch and it left melted rubber on my hand(I'm pretty sure this is the problem). So I attached it with Belt Dressing and it stopped for about 5 seconds. So now I was pissed and went home.To day I lossend the belt and its worse. The belt is a good year Gater back by the way.So I'm thinking its the belt. The belt was new(yeah I dont think so...screwed again) about 10,000 miles ago when I had new cam seals and timing belt installed. So y'all think the belts bad or could it be a bearing. Also it took me 30 minutes to figure out how to loosen the belt to beginning with(god I love Shushi power ).The belt also wasnt lose to begine with.I'm confused and cant wait till summer so I can drive my 'maro again. I would love any help on the subject.
