Hey guys! Long time reader but just decided to join (actually I joined already and posted in the 4X4 parts for sale but was not able to log back in so this is my 2nd account). I used to run 70's F-150's but had gotten out of the hobby for a while. Havent been offroading since I was a kid actually but I do, do a little wheeling around my ranch here and there getting out of soft spots
As far as 4X4's well....I really dont have an actual 4X4 per say but mine are all 10X10. I've got an AM General M35A2 that I use but more recently I imported another vehicle for the collection, a Czech PLDvK 53/59 Jesterka (Lizard) and this thing hands down eats up any 4X4 that I have ever driven  I have gotten into military vehicles instead of building trucks now and I must say, sometimes they really get it right.
11.5 tons, 15mm chromemoly compressed armor up front, 10mm on the sides, portal axles with manual engaged lockers, rear winch with winder, Tatra 912-2 aircooled multifuel diesel engine which is a mechanical masterpiece in itself. Everyting is on roller bearings in it, even the crankshaft. I even have the 30mm cannons for it as well.
Anyway, some pics

Inside the 912-2, double oil pump too.

Just did an LED tailight conversion

A video of me and little bub pulling some downed trees from Ike into a pile. Out pulled a John Deere 4020 and drug a fallen 50' tall by 5' in diameter water oak like it wasn't back there

Now here is a question for you experts. I want to install an electric cooling fan in it. This fan will be installed not to help cool the engine but to help shove the hot air out of the engine compartment to reduce cabin temps at low speeds. I have already started to insulate the engine compartment, especially where the hot air is discharged, but I think the hot engine air needs to be evacuated more rapidly. The two reverse ports on the engine doors only allow so much to escape and as we know, heat rises so it ends up backing up there. The engine has its own air jacket so this fan will not affect engine temps too much, what I would like to do is rig it up with a toggle switch so I can turn it off and on and I also want to have it controlled by a thermostat too. The engine is at normal temp at about 80 degrees C. I would like to put the thermocouple somewhere in the airjacket or near the cylinders.
This way when I park somewhere to grab something on the way home like at Lowes or Walmart it wont be so hot in the cabin from it sitting. I suspect this would also help extend engine life as well by keeping a flow of air going past the cylinders while the engine fan is not running.

Any ideans guys? Does anyone make an aircooled electric fan? I know I can fit the biggest one from JEGS in the nose, its just that it's for water cooled vehicles though.

Anyone??????? Can anyone offer some advice on a fan and how to rig it for an air cooled engine.

Holy Crap that thing is COOL! I want to drive it!

Like I said in your other post, maybe try Flex-a-Lite, they have an application for just about everything so you should be able to find something that will work.

As soon as they offer a Ranger with a Diesel in America, I'll be the idiot camping out in front of the Ford Dealer!

Yeah you ought to see it in the mud. It's not much in the speed department and tops out at about 45-50mph but talk about crawl. The gearing is so low in the low range that with the throttle wide open I can get out and walk beside it. Sucker will climb too and will pull its 11.5 ton a*s plus some.

Fix'in to call Flex-a-Lite....
