I'm building a jeep cj5/tube buggie. Want to keep wieght down no V8 what gearing should i run in axels (dana 60s) dynatrac? with what gearing in tranfer case and what gearing and type of transmission(manual), along with transfer case. No crawl box have not gotten in parts yet so everything is still up in the air any advice or theory would be greatly appreacitated. hate to go with what i think an cost my self money and time...on top of still not being happy.
Will be runnings 37's want to crawl most of the time but have torque and speed to make it up some obstacles. do not need jeep to go over 45 mphs on road. not going to be used for heavy road driving 35 mph top on back roads.
Also any ideas on how much horsepower-size of stock motor-i would need with your ratio theory... note- low wieght. body of vehicle will be made up of only 1 1/4" & 2" tubing ?1/8 - 3/16 wall thickness? / diamond plate. original hood, grill, frame, spare tire, 16 gallon alluminum gas tank, and part of orignal firewall, no Tub will be used.
Should i run reverse cut in the front axel, Going to be doing alot of off camber and articulate climbing in the woods some rocks on hill of trails. Note keeping wieght down on vehicle.
Thank you for your knowledge and time...
