I have a set of 44's I'm swappin into a sami I was just lookin for any feedback from people who have a spool or have lincolned something. I'm gonna run a TBI 350 with 36" 12.50" on H1 beadlocks will the welded spiders take that abuse or should I pony up the money for a full spool, I'm not a big mud runner but the trails I wheel get sloppy in the spring and fall.

To be honest, I hate it being locked up solid all the time when in the mud. Steering issues, trying to fight the up-hill slants, sliding all over the place with no control isn't fun when its sloppy and you need to have control. In the front, it isn't as bad but the rear is horrible. For what you want to do, I wouldn't do it, I'd go with a posi or some type of LSD. If its just an offroad only rig, then maybe but it hinders alot of abilities for the one gained. I actually run a spool in the front of my 74 Chev and I really don't like it but as I said, its not as bad because you can unlock one hub or the other if needed. Anyone that has done this will know what I'm talking about. I'd rather be open in the f&r in the mud than be locked solid. The rocks are a little different, but that's where I like to play.
That's just my opinion on that. Try it and if you don't like it, throw a posi unit or LSD at it next time. Good luck, sounds like you have a good solid running gear for the Sami.

Lock the back, limited slip up front.

To answer your question, if you weld it up correctly it can be just as strong as a spool, if not more. But at the same time spools are cheep. So if you think you can weld it, weld it, if you have any doubts spool it.
