high idle, 89 dakota 3.9

My 89 dakota sport has the 3.9 v6, and it idles at about 1000rpm at warm running temp. its got a holly throttle body, ive been told to change the idle air motor but it doesnt have one. if anybody knows wat i can try it would be much appreciated.

sounds like you have a vacuum leak some where.

try cleaning out your idle air controller. when they get dirty they can stick and change idle speeds. its really easy to do. once you locate, remove it and spray out the chambers with carb cleaner till the brown stuff goes away
