Hello guys! Sorry for my first post being a classified listing, I know thats pretty crappy but at the moment I'm trying to move this engine out and all I'm getting are hits from the wrong people for this. It was intended for offroad and if I can help someone out with it then I'd rather it go to another 4X4 enthusiast. Here is a copyof my listing that I posted on Craigslist.
The price is $650
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ford 351M (modfied) engine for sale. This is basically a rebuilt engine project. I have hot tanked the block, have fresh mains/rods/cam bearings (FedMogul) and fresh chrome rings on stock original pistons. The block has not been overbored and is std. size. Original heads hot tanked and rebuilt by METS engines, new valves, guides, double springs and new rotators. New camshaft, is a Summit brand 260 cam with new lifters. New box of competition cam pushrods in box. Summit brand roller chain timing set. Summit brand exhaust headers. New electronic distributor unit in box. New high volume oil pump in box. Engine is short block configuration and needs to be assembled and a new gasket kit with seals is included. Engine is set up with a rear sump oil pan and oil pickup tube for 4X4 application. I have new engine mount insulators that come with it too. This engine is set up for a manual transmission i.e. the flywheel and clutch assembly are manual transmission. Engine was intended as a spare for my 1978 F150 4X4 which I have sold so it is taking up room in my shop and occupying an engine stand that I need for something else. Email me for pictures or more information Location: Branch, LA it's NOT ok to contact this poster with services or other commercial interests -------------------------------------------------------
Here are some pics. I have had this in my shop for the better part of 8 years now. I sold the truck long ago and now just dont need this. I had a high rise dual carb intake with two 650 Demon carbs on it but that is not included. Sorry about the pic quality, the thing has been covered but there is still a thick layer of dust and dirt on some parts. All of the other parts are in bags labeled and on the table behind it.
New roller timing set in valley. Nothings rusty, its just got allot of dust on it.

New cam still covered with assembly lube.

A few shots under the skirt. Still oily and lubed and has tags from MET's still attached.

New heads.

All other parts are in bags on the bench behind it. Rockers, keepers, heat sheilds, mounts, clutch, flywheel, new distributor, new pushrods, new lifters, dampener, valve covers, etc....everything except the starter, intake, and carb.
Shoot me an email at march21_1861@hotmail.com if interested

Hey guys! For some reason I screwed up my login so I had to re-register.
Just to let you know, this is still available but I am currently putting it back together. Everyone seems to want it together and that boggles me, I always figured that if I were buying an engine I'd rather get it in pieces so I was sure what was in it, guess thats not the case nowadays. It will be together and ready to drop in less intake/carb. Same price.

Never had a problem with any of my Fords. Had a Blazer and broke the frame in two places, once in the normal place up front behind the steering box and once just in front of the drivers rear wheel where the spring hanger is. I prefer Fords (I collect mustangs, Model T's, etc) but I wont dog the other brands. Its all in how you use it and abuse it and in having your tire, wheel, suspension, axle, driveline, engine built just right for what you want to do.
I do love the travel you get from the early F-150 coil springs and the Dana 44 and 9" are so much heavier duty than the GM/Chevy equivalent.
A buddy of mine and I built an awesome Ford powered and geared Pontiac Fiero. We took two front Dana 44's of some junk F-150's, the coils, the T-14 and NP-205, and the power steering boxes also came off too. Built a frame out of pipe and channel iron and started installing the components. Took a Ford 400m and rebuilt it just slighty over stock and installed if facing backwards on the rear of the frame. My buddy did the axles with new ring and pinion sets so they would run the direction we wanted and then dropped the Fiero body over it. Looked good, ran great, and was still a rear/mid engine when we got done with it. All wheel steering was possible with the Dana 44's and boy could it make some sharp turns! 35" swampers with one spare strapped horizontaly on the rear deck lid. That thing would run.....we ended up selling it to some dude who raced it twice then it caught fire and burned up.
