I have a rattle in either my transfer case or my drive line or my front end but only when my truck is in 4 wheel hi or lo not sure which it is yet, I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota quad cab that I recently got stuck on the beach and it has only been doing it after that happened, any body know what the problem is? if it is the front end or transfer case how would I fix it?

Well It could just be sand stuck somewhere, but for it to rattle I can't be to sure. Rattling may not be anything at all. First your really have to find out where its comming from. Cuase it could just be a loose heat shield. Or it could be a chipped spider gear, or something got chipped in the t case. Lots and lots of possibilities if you don't know where its comming from. Find out and i'll see what i can do for ya.

well I checked it out and it is coming from the transfer case and it sounds like there are teeth broken. Anyone know of a cheap transfer case for a 2004 dodge Dakota with the 4.7L V8?
