I recently bought a 08 Chevy Colorado 4x4 that came with the 4 cyl engine and 235/75/15 tires,i want to replace the factory 15" rims with larger ones,i've been told that i can go up to a 17" tire and rim (same overall tire height) with no power/braking issues but if i go to a rim/tire larger than 17",i will lose power and add to braking times,is this true and how much of a difference does it really make?

I think you're asking the wrong forum for big wheel advise.
But yes, as long as the overall size of the tires doesn't change it won't be affected. If the overall tire size gets larger or smaller is where you will notice performance and other issues.

You want to go with a bigger wheel and keep the same overall diameter of a 235/75? Bad idea, bro.

Street truck? That should be illegal. Might as well give up and just lease that Caravan.

If you are making it a street truck 17's should be fine.I would suggest joining www.coloradofans.com, best forum to deal with ANYTHING relating to a colorado or canyon.
