94 Jimmy Engine, Trans, and Transer matches

I have a 94 jimmy that has a very tired 4.3 vortec with the 4l60e trans, not sure about the transfer case. I am a Marine deployed to Iraq, but i am getting parts and supplies ready to do a swap. I am planning on putting a carburated 305 or 350 paired to a th350 trans and a np205 transfer. A few questions, what vehicles did the th350/np205 combo come in, and how can i tell that its a th350/205 combo? Will the driveshaft input for the transfer that is originally in it fit the 205? also, going from the electronic engage switch to manual for the 205, how is the linkage set up, and how difficult will it be to modify to work in my jimmy? thanks for any help.
