With so many options on the market, I don't know where to start. I own a 00' Wrangler Sahara, mildly built with full blown 4x4 fever. Bought it in 03', put a 2 1/2" spacer kit from Fabtech with 32" Swamper TSLs, has Warn front bumper with 9.5ti and Wilderness rear with racks and fullsize spare. So far I have had no problems, but I am ready for the next step!

I recently picked up a set, front and rear, Dana 44's out of an  89' wagoneer, in good condition for 100 dollars. Thought it was a good deal and couldn't pass it up. I am will to do the work as this has become a passion of mine. I am willing to aquire whatever tools and knowlege nessarary to complete my objective. AAAHHHH!!! THE OBJECTIVE!!  Wish I had unlimited funds but need to stick to a budget and keep a dual purpose vehicle, as this may need to be driven daily. I do mild to intermedate trails and drive it to and from where we go. I would like run 35s, 5.5" Rubicon Express long arm and lockers with 4.10s. The question is should I build the 30/35 combo I have in the jeep or build the 44's?

I have been seeing fully assembled ones, 4.10s, disk brakes and lockers for $1500 and up that are brand new ready to bolt in. WHAT TO DOOO???

Either way, building the 44's or 30/35 will end up costing you about the same. So I would work on the 44's. This way too you can take your time and build them as funds allow, then swap them out in a weekend when you are ready.

And if you are going to go to 35's I would reconsider the 4.10's unless you have a healthy V8, I would go 4.56 instead.
