Clunking When Braking

I have a 1990 Dodge W250 PowerRam. When I step on the brakes I hear a single clunk. It sounds to be coming from the front left but not sure. Could it be the caliper shifting. I know the way they are held in place doesn't seem like the most secure. Thanks for any help.
