I have an 04 F350 and am planning to have a suspension lift installed next week. (4" front, 2" rear)  The shop suggested Rough Country or Skyjacker.  Does anyone have opinions as to which is better?  Also, I have been told a lot of negative things about how my truck will ride with the lift, but the shop says it will actually ride and handle better afterward due to the arched leaf springs.

Also, I need to be able to pull a gooseneck horse trailer.  I don't think it will be enough lift to cause a problem?  Any ideas?  Also, with leveling the truck, do you think it will cause the back end to sit down a lot with the trailer?  The shop said it shouldn't be a problem unless I was going to tow in excess of 10,000 pounds which I don't think I will, but it will probably be close to that.

Any suggestions/advice/experience is appreciated.  I have my heart set on lifting my truck a little, but don't want any bad surprises !!!  Thanks for any help.

On the lift system, I would choose Rough Country because of the price. They have a very low price and a good lift system. As for the ride, it will be bumpier because the suspension is stiffer. Handling will be pretty much the same, as long as you get the shocks that aide steering........But both systems are good lift systems, if they weren't they wouldn't be a popular brand.

2" is not enough to cause any problem at all, your trailer will be angled just a tad bit, nothing even worth mentioning. Unless your trailer sits really low to begin with. Then you may drag the back end when you hit bump. But like i said you would have to be doing more than 4" of lift or just have a trailer that sits 2" off the ground, and since you got neither you will have no problems.

As for the wight limit, you will sag with the more wight you have. But it depends on the lift for the back, if you are just doing  a 2" block, or if your replacing the springs. If your doing a block, then the factory spring limits apply, and will sag no more than before. I do not know how new springs would work, unless they have the same wieght limit.

But...I can only give you my opinion. I hope it helps somewhat.

I have more experience with Bronco II's and Explorers, on those rigs, there was a big difference in quality between the Rough Country and Skyjacker lifts. The RC kit was ok for a street rig, but for actual offroad use, Skyjacker was much stronger. If it was my rig, it would be Skyjacker.
