I bought this bronco for $1500, the guys brother swapped the 5.0L for a 5.8L Windsor. He only changed the motor. So its running off of the 5.0L computers. I need to know which computers need to be changed, if any. Its a 1992 Ford Bronco XLT w auto trans. When cold starting you have to hold the throttle to the floor and it will turn over after about 10 to 20 seconds. Then idle rough as hell, sometimes it won't even idle i have to play with the throttle. After a couple seconds it will idle but it will idle high then low. And after driving a while when i stop it will idle low and then idle high and try to take off then it will idle back down again. Other than the starting and idling its runs great. Also IT ALWAYS STARTS, it just takes it a little to turn over. The motor is out of a 90 bronco. Also what is the air pump for? Mine isn't hooked up. The pump is bypassed and None the the hoses are hooked up. What problems could that cause?

When you say "air pump" are you talking about the smog pump? I'm no mechanical guru but it sounds like a vaccum line is not hooked up or bad. I recently purchased a '94 with a 5.8L for $300! The fuel pump was not working. Learn from my mistake: if you have to replace yours, do not cut the steel lines coming out of the tank! The replacement modules you get at the parts stores only are the pump and not the whole thing! F-150 units are different in that they have shallower tanks and wont reach the bottom of a bronco tanks.
Anyway, If you need me to, I can send pics of my engine bay so you can compare wiring and hoses.
I have a hammer and a sawz-all and am not afraid to use em!

the air pump is for the exhaust. I found that out from the previous owner. Its not needed, because of my dual exhaust. The problem is with a computer, which one i don't know.

not exactly sure on that. it should be either in the fire wall on the drivers side right behind the inner fender or in the cab.
