I’m looking at an 06 Ram 2500 4x4 Diesel. Electronic shift or lever shift? I understand that both are vacuum actuated at the axel however, I'm wondering if one really is better than the other or is it just preference at this point?

Preference.

Some like the feel of the shift lever, some don't like bending down. Some like to think it will be more reliable with out the shift motor on the t-case, which it will. But then others accept that we have come a long way and there is rarely a problem with electronic shift anymore.

So I guess it's really just up to you.

Personally I like the idea of having a stick and manual hubs, so there is nothing to fail. But with that said both of my 4x4's are electronic, and working fine. So yea...

Right on...Thanks for the opinion. I reckon I'll try and find one with a stick...I'm stuck in the past I guess. Just looks cooler if nothin' else.
