Hi all, new to the forum.

I just bought a 1986 4Runner 4x4 SR5. It came with automatic locking hubs, which do not work. I purchased two used manual locking hubs, which I was told to just slap on in place of the automatic ones. Well...... don't seem to work that way. I see that it needs a conversion kit, and looking closer seems the ones I bought came with the parts to convert. But, I don't know how to do it. Hmmmmm.....

Can someone give me a quick run down on how to convert this thing? I have, obviously, removed the old hubs, but where do the new nuts and washers and stuff go? I seem to have all the parts, just don't know where they go.

Any help would be appreciated.

TIA,
Larry

It's too much to go over here. The hardest part is removing the cone washers.
The best thing to do is get a Factory Service Manual. It has all the steps to remove/install manual and auto hubs. If you search you can find FSM's online and  download. Any truck or 4Runner FSM thru 95 will do.
