Tire chains on an S10

I have a 99 S10 with 2.2 engine, and 2wd. I live in a rural area that has iffy roads in the winter. While I am reluctant to drive around during winter, I still have to get out to get supplies, ect. So, I'm buying a set of tire chains. My question is, are there limitations of any kind with regard to using chains on this? I realize that I'd have to keep my speed down, but beyond that, I'd like to know if putting chains on, in accordance with instructions, would cause any extra damage to the inner fender well and beyond. I'm not into off-roading, or any other kind of hotdogging, but I do have to get out from time to time during the winter, so I want to keep fairly safe.

Nope. Just follow the directions on the box and you will be just fine!

I had A 1990 s10 2.5L 4cyl. In 1993 we had a major snowstorm in this area use the chains the way the instructions tell you, add a few hundred pounds in concrete blocks and you'll have no problems just keep in mind slow and easy.
