hey i need some more opinions on getting a new radiator. i have a 1985 k20 with a stock 350 v8 and 40 inch swampers on it and every time i go 4 wheelin or when im sitting still it over heats...i know the problem is my radiator i came to that conclusion already but now i dont know which one to get for a decent price. i dont have any idea of what a core or row is in one i just know i want something that will keep it cool no matter what. any suggestions? i was looking at a be cool radiator for 500 dollars but thats a little more then i can spend and the one that was in the truck was stock.
thanks elijah

I have a 1987 blazer with a pontiac 400 in it. It is only for the woods which is nothing but swamp here in fl. I went to discount auto parts and bought a radiator for a chevy k30 engine size 400 (option-heavy duty cooling) and I have never over heated. I smoked my tranny. get an external trans cooler. I think it was around $180. Also I have dual electric fans on it. It fit in the orginal location of the orginal radiator for a 350.

I picked up a three core radiator at the local parts store for something like $130. I have a 383 stroker, that ran pretty hot, a 4 core is probably overkill for a stock truck, and they are not cheap. If your thermostat and water pump are in good condition, and your still hot, you can add a remote oil cooler to the truck for not alot of money. There is also a product called wetter water that you add to the coolant that should net you a few degrees in temp. Hope this helps.....
