I just got done rebuilding my transmission on my 77 K-10.  It has a turbo 350 with the np203 x-fer case.  I installed the tranny and transfer case and started it up to test it out.  Well problem is when I put it in gear it doesn't go anywhere.  I checked to make sure that the x-fer case was in gear, and tried it again with no joy.  I am starting to get frustrated and maybe not thinking to clear.  Any help would be great.

Thanks for the advice.  Before I got your reply I did try it again and if I revved it up a little it would sort of move, so I think you're right.  Does this sound correct?

the 203 is a differential transfer case used in full time 4x4s if you have lock outs or do not have both shafts on it may slip

if your t case is a full time unit, and is not in the high lock position, or is and is worn considerably, its just spinning the front shafts. it will work like an open differential between front and back axles. you will have to run your front hubs in the lock position all the time to make this combo work. its not good on the case to run it in lock for two wheel operation. the lock pos. on the shifter is all the way back toward the seat. one notch forward is high open, then neuteral, low transfer, then low lock all the way forward toward the firewall. good luck.
