2wd change over to 4wd

i have a 1990 f150 302 auto, i want to change it over to 4wd.i got a 1982 f150 300 inline 4wd 4spd,need to find out if the running gears will go under my 90 f150, and how big a pain will it be? in march i changed my 90 from a 5spd to a auto. if anyone can help it would be great.thanks for any help.. (busmonkey)

Sorry, it will not.
Well... what trans was behind the I6? That part may bolt up. You will need the 4wd trans, transfercase, and drive shafts. The issue will be the beams, you can not simply swap from a 2wd I-Beam to a 4wd Twin Traction Beam suspension as the mounts are different.
Your best bet will be to get the trans/transfer/ect and then swap a solid axle under the front.

BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY THIS IWHOLE IDEA IS REALLY STUPID BOTH TRUCKS ARE WORTHLESS GO LOOK FOR A 4X4 YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET ONE FOR 500 RUNNING AND MAYBEE USE GOOD PARTS OFF YOUR TRUCK TO FIX IT UP
I OWN A SHOP AND A TOWING COMPANY IVE JUNKED PROBABLY 100 OF THESE FORD TRUCKS IN THE LAST 2 YEARS MOST OF THEM NEWER I SEE THINGS OR HAVE PEOPLE ASK IF I CAN FINISH STUPID SWAPS THAT PEOPLE WANT TO DO USUALLY BECAUSE THEY THINK THEVE GOT A RUNNING TRUCK AND A BUNCH OF PARTS THEY WASTED MONEY ON I CANT EVEN COMPREHEND THIS MENTALITY OF ITS MY CAR SO ILL FIX IT EVERYONE SHOULD JUST USE A LITTLE COMMON SENSE SELL THERE CAR AND BUY WHAT THEY WANT AND SAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS NOT TO MENTION IF YOU ARE ASKING THESE QUESTIONS YOU DONT EVEN COME CLOSE TO HAVING THE ABILITY TO FINISH IT
I JUST BOUGHT FINISHED AND SOLD A 99 TAHOE THAT SOME FOOL TOOK APART AND COLD NOT HANDLE PUTTING ON A SIMPLE BOLT ON LIFT KIT IT CAME WITH EVERYTHING NEW TIRES WHEELS LIFT GEARS AND A LSD HE HAD 7 GRAND PLUS THE TRUCK ON BLOCKS I GOT IT FOR 1500 AND I WOULD HAVE JUST PUT IT BACK TO STOCK BUT HE TORCHED EVERTHING NOT USED WITH THE LIFT SO I GOT A BIG ASS TAHOE TO DRIVE FOR WINTER AND SOLD IT IN SUMMER AND MADE 3000 ON IT IT ONLY TOOK ME 15 HRS TO FINISH IT
