I have a 95 tahoe, 9" sas swap, 350 vortec, 4L60E. Im currently running 4.10s and 36s and its a dog on the road, especially when the 4L60E goes into that very low OD. Offroading I hardly use 4HI because its too high 4LO is much better. I know this question is asked a lot, but if anyone has experience running these ratios and drivetrain please let me know. Oh yeah, I drive this to work about 50 miles round trip 70% stoplights/heavy traffic 30% freeway.

Thanks. Im leaning towards the 5.13s, just in case I go to 37s and with OD tranny should keep the RPMS around 2900-3100 at 65. Anybody running 5.13s??

DD? I'd probably lean more towards the 4.88's myself. But that is just me.

I printed the chart out and have it in my garage. I have givin this chart site to many people on this site and all my friend seem to forget and call me for it to. 4WOR Web Editor I have scanned this site and have not found a similar piece it might be useful to have a page of quick info like that. If there is I have not found it. Glad I could help.

Agreed, 4.88 would be a great ratio. 5.13 is good if you go to 37s.

Yeah I guess 2900-3100 rpm would be a little high with 5.13s. I drove on the freeway yesterday got around 1700-1800 in OD, not very good at all anyone have a similar setup running 5.13s or 4.88??

Somewhat similar setup but with smaller tires. I had my 37s on my 91 with 4.56s and its way too high geared. If you plan to tow or run 37s go with atleast the 4.88s. My recommendation would be 5.13s with a 37 or 38" tires. I plan on running 5.13s with the 37s soon. I know it sounds low but the OD will appreciate it more. The way you have it now will kill the trans in no time. I'd keep it out of OD til you get the ratio change.

Keep in mind that the ratio of over drive is .7 to 1. That RPM quoted of 2900 - 3100 using 5:13 gears with 36" tires is only in 3rd gear of 1 to 1 not in over drive. 36" tires with 5:13 gears in over drive would only be around 2200 RPM at 65 MPH. YZ250JV is right on the recomendation. I have a friend that runs 37" tires with 5:13 gears on his 1994 extended cab.

I just put 35" toyos on my 94 dually.......i have 4.10s in it now and it has a hard time holding speed in over drive. I do a lot of driving city and highway. Would 4.56 or 4.88 be the best bet?? i tow a lot but i would also like decent gas mileage? any opinions would be much appreciated.
