I recently purchased a 95 t100 ext cab 4x4 with the 3.4. My question is about the automatic trans. At highway speeds (45 and up)it shifts alot and the check a/t light flashes all the time. Usually about 10 to 20 seconds between flashes. I am new to yotas and any ideas would be great.

This silence isnt very reasureing me that this deal with my yota is going to be a good one

I would start by performing the procedure to see if any CEL codes have been stored in the ECM. Have you checked the trans fluid level? (needs to be checked with engine hot and running) what does it look like?

There is an issue with the transmission and it's trying to tell you that with the flashing lights. What exactly it means I'm not sure. Had they gone to OBDII on your 95 yet or was it still OBDI (95-96 was the transition year)?

If it's OBDII its simple, scan it and pull the code.

Likely what you'll need to do is some maintainance. Check the fluid. Actually, change the fluid and filter. Then reset the code (hard reset by pulling the battery if it's OBDI) and see what happens. If that doesn't solve it it may need to see a tranny shop.

OBD-II started in 96.
