I have a 84 blazer with a pontiac 400 engine and the 400 tranny with a 208np transfercase and with 38's. Engine came out of street drag car. I'm not sure your torque but I stomp mine with no problems. What gears are you running? If it breaks always up grade to the next size never put same back in. I like the 400 tranny's.
