Pinion bearing replacement...

Ok, so I grab my front driveshaft on my XJ and I can actually wiggle the pinion yoke. I'm guessing I need to replace the bearing and seal, any idea how much this would run me at a garage? Or is it easy enough for me to do at home? I've never done differential work before.

You're going to have to call the shops and ask, shop rates vary widely.
You might be able to get away with doing it yourself so long as you don't have to change any settings. It should be the same as doing a pinion seal, just with more involved. At least as the gear set up is concerned.

I've never done differential work before, I know how to change the seal, just never done it. I have no clue how to do the bearing though, do I have to take evrything out to do it?

Yea, everything would have to come out. But as long as everything that came out goes back in you shouldn't have to worry about resetting the backlash on the gears, which is the most difficult part.
