I have been looking for an exhaust pipe bender. 2 1/2" pipe max. All I can find are the high tech programable ones for thousands. I have see tubing benders and electrical benders for $200. Do they make a simple hand or hydrolic exhaust bender? The only tool I need.

i believe northern tool industry makes one. the company i work for gets there catalogs and ive seen them in there not sure of the price though. i think it was still over the 200 dollar range. im not sure if it will work for exhaust, but you can fill tubing with sand, cap it of, heat it, and bend it with no kinks. again, dont know it this works with exhaust systems.

Thanks, HF has the same type of benders as Northern tools. I might just have to try it. I have an 85 blazer with 26" of ground clearence to the crossmember for the transfercase. I'm trying to keep everything tucked up. A bender will save a lot of cutting and welding. The local exhaust shops want to charge $10 a bend and I'm suppling the pipe. Just the bends will be $200.

do you have torches and sand at your disposal? you could alway try filling and capping off and bending each section and go from there. it shouldnt take much heat. ive never tried it but herd it works great. hope this helps.

My friend has a set I always borrow and always fill, in fact I fill them probably more than I use. I plan on trying this weekend coming up. Yard dirt should work. I will let you know how it goes.

If you need one in the future you can get a JD2 or ProTools Model 3 Bender and get a die that will fit the size tube you are using.
